White My work as an abstract painter endeavors to engage the viewer, and myself in a surprising non-tangible amplification of light and color. The enigmatic visual effects of color fascinate me. Sometimes pale painted forms that are intermingled with after-images appear and disappear. Simultaneously the abutting edges of colors create a colored light that seems to float in front of the painting surface. How these effects relate, how to bring them to the fore and how they are integrated into a total abstraction is pivotal to my work. What I am striving for is the emergence of visual activity where the distinction between what is painted and what the eye constructs is elusive.
